When I first started looking for alternate formats and ways to study scripture I was drawn into the greater Christian communities versions of the Bible. Modern, wide margin, study guide type of formatting that drew me in to Gods word in a way I had never been pulled to before. In fact, I should give credit to these many versions of the Bible that inspired me in creating the Wide Margin BOM and the Book of Mormon study guides! They truly impacted my faith life so much I saw a huge missing piece for me in my own religious texts & decided to work on creating beautiful, engaging, modern ways to connect to scripture.
since the new change in language in recommendation from they Church around Bible study and encouraging different versions of the Bible I finally feel like I can openly share all my favorites! Here’s a little Bible round up to get you started!
first up is a parallel Bible. It has all the translations with each other so you can see all the different translations at the same time when studying. It’s actually amazing what different insights come with just a few tweaks of a certain word, or how I get a different feeling or new ideas/realizations can come with different ways of reading a passage of scripture!

This is a New International Version (NIV). Thin paper makes it a good size, love the cover, and how similar it feels to KJV as far as less frills just scripture.

this is a Christian Standard Bible & from a company called She Reads Truth, a huge inspiration for me in earlier years. This one I shared on Instagram this week with lettering, devotionals, maps, and other insights throughout. Anytime there’s other content beside scripture in a Bible there may be some doctrinal gaps however I take what resonates, appreciate the truth and leave the rest!
One last thing to grab! Scripture tabs. None of these bibles have tabs and I definitely do not have it memorized so these tabs have made life much easier. I have used these or similar kinds to these in my own wide margin bibles as well. Super helpful!
Those are my favorite four. The Church’s guidelines are amazing and some trial and error to what translations might help you in your own faith walk with the Bible will be such a rewarding and fun journey I can’t wait to hear what versions draw you in!
