Happy FRIDAY! I am so excited to introduce another amazing artist that contributed to the wide margin Book of Mormon. Her name is Janie over at @janiegeorgestudio on Instagram. This girl is such a LIGHT! I'll let her tell her story, but I just wanted to say really quick I am so thankful that she jumped with me into this project. I didn't know her, and we've still never officially met, but I am so empowered and moved by her words and art. Go follow her. you won't regret it!
My testimony of the Book of Mormon has always been the same, that there is power in the Book, it's chapters, sentences and words. My grandma Nadine use to always say "Even if you can just hold the Book of Mormon everyday, do it." I have felt that power from the Book of Mormon at moments in my life and I really hunger for more moments like that. That's why I was really excited to help with this project. Before I moved cross country I started an all Female Book of Mormon study group. Because I did not go on a mission I've always felt lacking in my scriptural understanding and knowledge so, I felt I and many others needed a space to learn and ask questions without feeling judged. One of those study group meetings we read the story of Lamoni and I was so impacted by the Queen and her faith in that story. She is one of the few women we get to hear of in the scriptures and I resonated with her. The verse I chose, Alma 19:13 describes the faith Queen and King Lamoni and the faith I hope to emulate. I've loved studying with my wide margin Book of Mormon and feeling the love and testimonies of so many other women in the book through their artwork. I am just really happy and grateful to be apart of it!
